What does everyone here do for their excersizing? and how often(per week) and whaen did you start after your surgery? Today is my third week after my micro pouch and I want to start a exersize program. I know I cant to anything yet for my stomach area. I cant really afford a gym. I have a exersize bike, think I can do that. I really want to avoid alot of extra skin, any suggestion? Thanks

You can't dodge the skin problem. You can lessen it but you will have it. I lost 180 lbs and had only 4 lbs of skin but it was almost 2 square feet. I walked like a mad man. At one point I was up to 15 miles a day. I do Judo on a regular basis but you can't anything like that till about 6 months. Lose slow and you bag up less. Have more melanin in your skin and you will bag up less. Keep hydrated and walk. Having lots of sex helps too. I just didn't tell my wife. kp

Good question Selena, exercise is a vital part of getting to goal. I started walking right after my RNY. My doctors only advice on exercise was "If it dosn't hurt it is okay". At 3 months I bought an elliptical and did 30 minutes 5 times a week. I started on level 3 and worked my way to level 6. When I went 10 pounds below goal I stopped the elliptical and just did the walking but now I added a few pounds I am now back on the elliptical for the last 2 months 4 times a week 30 minutes on level 5. By exercising for the last 2 years has made me look great in a size 6 in my 50's, I still have the extra skin problem but the muscle tone is great and I think that is what gives me a more younger body after the large weight loss. I hope this help. Take care, Janice
