Hello everybody. I was just wondering if I could have a little input on your TT surgeons. I know in the summer I will be looking to have one. Can you tell me a good surgeon and what your out of pocket cost was. Thanks for all the input in advance Dayja

Hi Dayja! I just had my TT on Dec. 7th, my surgeon was Dr. Alganhem, he works with Dr. Obeid from Hurley Bariatrics if you need a hernia repair, too. Anyway, he's very nice, almost shy, very attentive and patient. The bad part is that he's up in Flint and it's been a pain in the neck going back and forth. Dr. Ellen in Birmingham is also very excellent, I have a bunch of friends who have gone to her for all sorts of PS...and Dr. DiNick has an excellent reputation here on the board, I believe he's working out of the Barix Center in Ypsi...Carey Poisson here on the board is the best one to talk to about him. I believe she had him as her surgeon and is now working for him... Good luck with your research! Lizzie B :bounce:

I had my RNY surgeon do mine. He did a nice job and I was pleased with the results except the scar looks like it says "MSU" for some reason. Just kidding. I selected him because I knew him and trusted him. He has taken good care of me all along the way. I believe it's a matter of trust. I must tell you my first one was quite painful but the second one was a cake walk. He and his partner, Dr. Kole do them through Riverview. Please be prepared for anything. This is a tricky surgery and have some wild ride attached to it. I had a major seroma with mine. Dr. Kole was quite impressed with it when he drained it. He thought it could be declared it's own country. I swear I sloshed like a water bed. kp

Dr Kole did my RNY. I would like for him to do my TT but I just have this feeling that my insurance wont pay for it. I was just trying to find other options and prices just in case this happened. I still have a few more months before I will get a eval. I guess I'm just tired of looking at TOOTSIE (yes my stomach has a name TOOTSIE).

If they pay for it at all I believe they will pay for it through him. He did Paul's and Paul was pretty pleased with the result. He had a pretty good recovery time too. Look up Paul in the members roster and contact him for some info. He's easy to talk to and is almost as good looking as me. kp
