Hi all, I had my surgery 12/29. My surgery went well, no complications. My hospitlal stay was great, pain was minimal. However, about a day after I arrived home I started to feel very nauseous. I don't want to look at or smell any food. I am completely turned off by just about everything on the liquid diet list. However, in order to keep myself alive I do try to eat what I can. I vomited a few days ago, but nothing really came up, and THANK GOD no blood or anything like that. I contacted my surgeon and got a presciption for some meds that are supposed to help. I am praying that will work. I can't help but worry am I one of those people who end up being a surgery nightmare story. What if I always feel like this? I remember a week ago wanting this surgery so bad, and thinking it will change my life. Will I ever be able to eat "normal" again? I truly hope so. Did anyone else experience this early out of surgery? And did things start to get better the further you got out? -Tiarra

Hang in there it will pass I was the same way after surgery, You are going through a normal process your body is getting used to the surgery and adapting to all the changes. Take your medications and sip the water and walk and it will make you feel better, Hugs Tricia

I had my surgery August 28th and I had the same thing. The smell of everything made me crazy. My son's father had to bleach the house. The smell of toothpaste even made me sick. Once I got some rest and got my pain under control I was ok. The feelings you are having are completely normal. I cried on and off for a couple weeks wondering if I had made a horrible decision but now I am so glad that I did this. I've lost 80.5 pounds and I look and feel wonderful. I have a long way to go but I know that things can only get better. Hang in there and give yourself a chance to heal. Best Wishes! Stacey B

Tiarra, Please don't worry about this just yet. I cried and cried after my surgery because I was nauseous all the time. I felt like I did when I was pg with my boys. I worried that I would feel like this for the rest of my life. I went to my 2 week post op appointment and the doc said it was normal; I wanted to strangle him. I honestly thought that the reason people lost weight after this surgery is because they were sick all of the time. So.....all of that aside. About 18 days post op I woke up and didn't feel sick. And I haven't felt that way since. I did vomit a lot, but admittedly I was brave in trying new things. You will feel a lot better soon. Follow your docs advice and just wait it out. Your body is adjusting, give it time. Brenda

I experienced all of it and it all got better. Every day there was a change. Sometimes it was small but there was a change. This may sound dumb but walking cured a lot of what was bugging me. You'll be fine. kp
