Anything new out here?
I thought I would reply for a change. I am not here as much as I would like to be, so I thought I'd do a little catch up. The last time I saw you was at Dr. S's office & we had tenatively set the month of march for him do do my legs and a couple of other things that needed done. that will now get put on the back burner for a while (hopefully little while). I have been battling lots of pain in my right knee for several months and after draining it 3 times and getting blood ( no infection in fluid) there was a concern that something more was going on. After a CT scan, arterior gram and no results I was sent for a second opinion. While I was in MD over Christmas I saw my old surgeon and both Drs agree that I need to go out to Mayo Clinic. The second Dr did a C reactive protien test & said that he is pretty sure (as sure as he can be) that I have a bone infection under the prosthesis in that leg. They are planning to take out the old prosthesis, putting a spacer in the joint for 6 weeks then do a new replacement. 
If that wasn't bad enough, on the 20th of December, I was rushing to get in my van and shut my right hand in the sliding door of the van. I was told that I broke my index finger and had to get 2 stitches (no numbing) at the base of the finger. I had 5 holes in the finger but only one required stitches. I saw my ortho yesterday & he said it wasn't broken but I had crushed the middle joint on that finger.
I was hoping to be done with surgeries for a while as last year I had 2 ortho surgeries. I had to have a revision of my right knee replacement in January and then in September I had surgery on my left hand for Dupytrens Contracture. I had 4 tumor like growths in the palm of my hand and they were setting on nerves making my hand go numb.
I have about 10 pounds that I keep playing with. Part of the month I am up 10 the other part I am down 10. I wish I could get past the 160's Maybe this will be the year. Hope you have a happy New Year
