HAD FUN WITH HORSES TODAY

WENT TO JENNYBWISE HOUSE TODAY AND MET HER KIDS AND HER HORSES....HAD A BLAST!!!! GOT TO HELP A LITTLE WITH THE GROOMING (NOT MUCH HELP) GOT TO HOLD THE HORSES WHILE SHE BRUSHED THEM OUT THOUGH!! I CAN'T WAIT TIL IT GETS WARMER OUT SO I CAN RIDE WITH JENNY AND THE KIDS!!!! THE ONE SHE HAS PICKED OUT FOR ME TO RIDE IS A PALOMINO MARE AND IS BEAUTIFUL!!! I THINK HER NAME IS DOLLY....JENNY SORRY IF I GOT THE WRONG NAME...(LOL BUT WITH 7 HORSES I WAS IN HEAVEN TODAY!!!!) YOUR GIRLS WERE ALOT OF FUN TO BE AROUND!!! CAN'T WAIT TIL I FEEL BETTER AND IT GETS NICER OUT SO WE CAN HAVE A REAL GOOD TIME TOGETHER!!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! NEED TO GET ME SOME BOOTS!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHERE TO GET A CHEAP PAIR??? OMG THATS FUNNY!!! AND SHE IS THE ONE THAT WAS AFRAID OF ME AT FIRST... HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO THE WESTERN STORE HERE IN SAGINAW? ITS ON GRATIOT (M46) IN SHIELDS. I AM GOING TO CHECK IT OUT SATURDAY IF I FEEL BETTER. ALSO TRACTOR SUPPLY HAS SOME BOOTS THERE AS WELL. I AM JUST WANTING SOME CHEAPY ONES....GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME TO USE!! I WAS FREEZING WHEN I GOT HOME YESTERDAY....HAD COMPUTER PROBLEMS AND COULDN'T SIGN ON FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON....GRRRRRRRRRRR BUT I AM BACK ONLINE AND OK. I HAD BRONCHIAL PNEUMONIA A COUPLE YEARS AGO AND I SURE HOPE THIS ISN'T IT AGAIN!!! I AM HAVING THE SAME SYMPTOMS....WILL CALL THE DR TOMORROW IF I AM NOT FEELING BETTER!!! I PROMISE!!!! HUGS JUDY

Hi Judy, Though I don't post here much I have been a daily reader for over a year. Your post about the horses touched this horsy gal's heart so I thought I would post. Isn't it amazing how we seem to never loose that love for these wonderful critters? Here's hoping you can ride very soon. If you can wait may I suggest you purchase your boots at either a used tack sale or even more fun is the MSU horse Expo in Lansing which is held in March. There are some pretty good deals at the Expo. Plus there is more tack, horsy stuff and HORSES there than at just one store. Plus they offer various demos in the arenas that could keep one captivated the entire weekend. Heck maybe we could try and plan to have all MI OHers who have an interest in horses to meet there. Then we could go out for dinner, get our horse fix and some exercise as we tromp through the event. Patt

patt H That is a great Idea my hubby and I go there every year It gets ya out of the house to do horsey things plus buys on sunday are great!!! ( no one wants to take the stuff back to there stores) Brich run is now having one to!!! has been going on for 4yrs. MY husband (Bob ) and I would looooove to meet other OH people and fellow horse lovers all disaplens (sp) and breeds. After all its about the animal, and aren't they beautiful all shapes sizes and movement. WE have mostly QHS now but I started riding when I was eight english hunter jumpers, sence then I have been on the back of most and have learned to respect everyone who dose anything with there horses. Again I say its about the love of the animal. WE breed reining horses now but I still have a hunter jumper in the barn, The best pony for the girls, and the one judy is going to ride I use for mounted medcial search and rescue ( I have landed a helocopter next to her) she is bomb prof!!!! I can not wait to have sugery and start to lose wt 1.. get on my horse without a step stool or to feel like I'm leaving them with a soar back when I'm done. 2 Be able to wear a belt!!! 3 To be able to work with my young horses safely ( to move quickly) jenny b wise

I paid 39.99 for my boots (Paddock Boots) at Petsmart in Grand Rapids. The larger stores carry EQUINE products. Also check @ www.statelinetack.com for specials - though I recommend you try on a pair first and then buy. Used is fine- Ebay would be a good place, again, you want to make sure they fit. Try looking for a tack store in Saginaw area that would carry used paddock boots. Another place that carries Equine products --- http://www.millbrook-tack.com/millbrook/ down in Grand Rapids and they have great product lines, bit pricy though sometimes you can find apparel and boots on sale/clearance. I found mine relatively easy at Petsmart. You'll want to get a helmet also, which can be easily done by measuring your head and then checking Ebay for the one that would fit. I got a 200.00 professional show helmet for about 40.00 on Ebay. Again, measure before you buy. Depends on what style of riding you plan to do- English or Western, but I can tell you that either way, I'm thrilled you got to play with .........you know MY love for them!! hay cowgirl Do not buy used boots we will find you a pair you can afford!! The helmet debate.... my girls and all kids that ride on the farm wear them. I have a english one and one that I am required to wear for mounted medical search and rescue so if you want one when you ride I've go it. I however feel its up to you, your an adult making your own decisions even working in the er for 12yrs has not changed my mind I like a ballcap or just going free. I suppose this helment thing is just like with the motercycles however if I got on one of those I would wear one!!!! but I not going to tell others what they have to do. LIVE AND LET LIVE !!! lets all try and plan on meeting at msu its in march. YEHAAAAA jenny b wise
