Well im dealing with hurley in flint and medicare. I did all the requirements to get a surgury date and have been trying to be patient for hurley to send my file to medicare. I called hurley before christmas and was told they had to pull my 6 months of diet history out of my huge file from my doctor and they would send it off and call me back. Well to try and make a long story shorter how much time should I give them before I call again? I dont want to seem like a pain in the a@@ and make an enemy over there and have them lose my stuff or something like that. Thanks for listening, Maria

Maria, When I was at that point... (I have Medicare too), I was calling them about every 2 or 3 days..... If they wanted to think of me as a pain in the butt then so be it, they know that everyone is axious and they deal with it all the time... just remember that the sqeaky wheel gets the oil.... Good Luck!!!! Shawn M.

Hi Shawn, Thanks for your reply. What makes me really mad is that medicare DOES NOT require 6 months diet documentation. I just want them to send it in already. Medicare is very easy to get approval for surgury, they would rather have you have surgury then have to deal with paying for treatment of all your co-morbidities.

Maria, From what I know Medicare requires 6 months of diet doc. and Medicaid requires 12 months. I got that right from the website... Unless you have a different plan or something. Just wondering who told you that you didn't need it? Good Luck, hope you hear something soon. Shawn M.

Thanks for all the replies. I called medicare themself and was told that all you had to have is co morbidities, and a referral from your pcp. My pcp even called them from the office and got the same reply. I love my pcp he covers all the bases and pushes for his patients to get what they need. Maria
