i like the Matrix Chocolate and Vanilla (they are also made by Syntrac, like the Nectar) because they're light and not too filling and the vanilla tastes great mixed with coffee. And the chocolate tastes great if i mix it up and then heat it in the microwave for a hot chocolate (mix it before heating it or you'll get a big lump of chocolate goo). I also use the Isopure Vanilla with my coffee sometimes. It doesn't taste as good but it's less carbs, less fat and more protein. I can't handle the Nectar, to me it seems oily but most people seem to like it.

I found ready to drink ones at Kroger in the health food section that I totally love. I found them online too! www.nakedjuice.com and bolthousefarms.com The Bolthouse Farms has a few different flavors and I love them! Good Luck! Jackie

Just a comment on the Bolthouse Farms protein drinks...while they are good...I like em myself on ocassion. They are very high in sugar for most postop RNYers to tolerate and will most likely cause them to dump.

I am reading the ingredients on the label looking for sugar...........the Sugar grams say 30g however if you then look at the ingredients on the label the first five or six ingredients are natural sugars coming from apple juice. Does natural sugar make RNYers dump? Here are the ingredients: Hazelnut Latte(low fat milk 100% Arabica coffee, natural flavors, roasted hazelnut extract, apple juice, milk whey, protein, calicum and the vitamins. It says right on the bottle All Natural No Sugar added Contains caffeine. Let me know what you think. I like the Chi Tea one too.

Natural sugars and lactose/sugars in milk do cause problems for some people. Its all about seeing what they can and cannot tolerate as a post op RNYer. Some may dump big time while others will seemingly have no problems with it. Every body is different. Go figure!

I'm still pre-op and trying out different shake recipes. I know some people say they hate it, but I get the Vanilla powder from Wal-Mart (can't remember the brand name) and it seems to taste good in anything I've tried. If you like the fruity flavors, why not mix Vanilla powder with Crystal Lite? Mix it in the blender with a couple ice cubes and you have something that tastes like soft serve ice cream. If you want to add some fruit, try frozen strawberries instead of ice cubes. Or frozen blueberries, fresh melon or a half a banana. I've also used the chocolate powder and mixed with a teaspoon of Folgers Instant Coffee, milk and ice cubs for a Cafe` Mocha Latte. Yummy! HTH Pam
