OT: First baked bread in my life
I made bread today.
Not in a machine, but kneeding, letting rise, and it was my first ever time making home made bread. The recipe is a hand me down recipe secret from a family down in KY that gave the recipe to my Mom before we moved back to MI. Here is a pic of the proud cook and her bread.
It will be enjoyed by my family on Christmas Day

Actually, it's a recipe called "Swiss Braided Bread".
Includes yeast, eggs, flour, milk, salt, sugar and loads (I mean LOADS) of real butter. No swiss nothing. Just the name.
Took me nearly all morning to do it, then I left for a while, came home, and the dang thing had gone from a softball size, to a bowling ball size ......it kept growing and growing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not to shabby for my first real live recipe for bread. And it's darn good stuff btw. I had to do a quality control check. HEE HEE.

Stacey, you inspired me to run out and buy some stuff to make baked bread. However, I got whole organic wheat, went by the recipe, but it was ok....not near as pretty as yours...you gotta knack for it girl~~ my kids are eating it up...but I wanted mine to look like yours,,,Happy Christmas and Merry Holidays!!~~!!
