I take childrens vitamins in am and pm, calcium am and pm, plus sublingual B-12 am and pm. Guess I am just not absorbing my B-12. Maybe it is the micropouch thing?!?! I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I have to fight to keep weight on. Who knows. Dr does not know. She says my iron is good but my B-12 level is really bad. First time that has ever happened. Maybe its age!! Have a good Christmas! Take Care!!!

Why do you need shots now? How low is your b12? Were the sublingual not working? I have low b12 also and I am taking a 2000 mcg a day for a month then my doc will retest me. I hope it works cause I don't want shots either lol.

She says the Sublingual are obviously not working. I have been taking oral B-12 since my first year checkup. I have been feeling like crap lately and thought that maybe my iron was low. She had a bunch of blood work done. Eight vials of blood to be exact. I am going to talk more to her Thursday when I go get my first shot. She is hoping that I feel better after I start the shots. Take Care!!

they do not hurt. at least mine didn't hurt. they just pinch a bit of flesh and there's a tiny stick and then it's over. it's not like those painful shots where you feel the burn as the fluid goes in, not at all. i was getting them every week too but they didn't work for me, the sublinguals did. i guess we're all different!

I've been getting them monthly for several months now. At first I could really feel a difference in energy level. Now there don't seem to be as much of a change. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Tammy!

There nothing really... Small shot, tiny needle.... I look at it like.. there are so many other terrible complications people can have post-op, if I have to take a B-12 shot for life is it really that bad? And compared to life as a 285 pound walking health time bomb is a B-12 shot all that bad?? Now I'm just working to keep my iron up....Which reminds me I'm due for a B-12 injection. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Hope Santa brings us some KICK @$$ shoes! *grin* Erin
