Hey everyone! It has been a long time since I have posted. I am just 5 months post op and I only lost 5 pounds in the past month. From 4 to 5 months. I didn't think the weight loss was suppose to slow down so soon. I am now down to 179 from 254. So, I am doing pretty good. Has this happened to any of you? What can I do to trick my matabolism (sp) so that it will pick up. Or at least get this weight to come off. 5 pounds isn't much for a month. Plus, I am still working out at Curves 3 to 4 days a week Any suggestions would be GREAT! I will thank you all in advance since during the holidays we are all so busy it is hard to find time to respond to all the responses. LOL Everyone have a WONDERFuL holiday! Merry Christmas. Hugs, Di

there could be a couple reasons.. 1. you may have reached a plateau, especially if your excercising alot, you are probably losing inches and not pounds right now.. 2. you could have reached a set point.. that is a place where maybe you were at that weight for a long time at some point in your life and for a bit your body will tihnk its supposed to stay there.

I agree with Cathy. I am 9 months post-op and I stopped really losing a lot at about 6 months. I still haven't figured out what makes me gain or lose. Some days I feel like I've eaten so much, and the scale will say I'm down 3 lbs. Other times, I exercise and really watch what I eat, and I don't lose a thing. I am averaging about 3 lbs. per month, though. If your diet hasn't changed and you are exercising, I think you have hit a sticking point, and you may just have to wait it out. Keep up the water and protein and wait a little while to see what your body is going to do. Brenda

Di One of the other things that could be going on is that you are losing inches but not pounds that sometimes happens. Also you might be gaining muscle mass or something. At one point I had to change my workout because it was routine. Talk to your NUT about it or your doctor if you are not losing inches. Suzanne
