Anyone got any suggestions. I just had my RNY (open) on Tuesday. I have got gas rumbling around so bad you swear there was a major earthquake going on. It hurts really bad when it rumbles like that. I called the doctor they said there was nothing they could suggest except back off on my pain med (I am not taking much anyway) and stop all protein till it passes. I am sure someone out there has to have a suggestion. I spent most of the morning walking this morning hoping it would make things move. Well it did, it made it worse! A lady my daughter works with suggested getting a chair and setting in the shower and letting the ho****er run down my back. It helped her move things when she had her RNY. I tried that too. If something doesn't give soon I am not sure what I'll do. I know it hurts ALOT! HELP PLEASE!!!

Thank you for your suggestion. My hubby just went to the store to get me some. I sure hope it helps. I am getting so sick I can barely drink water anymore.

also try drinking warm water.......put herbal tea in it if you cant deal with the warm........sometimes the warm helps to "move" things along.........good luck --------just remember how badly you wanted to pass this gas about 4 moths from now when it happens so easily! grin hug rae

I know you are fresh out of the hospital but if you can lay on your side with your binder on and gently rock a little then switch sides and do the same you might be able to move it. You must wear your binder though. And go gently. kp

I have always found that laying on my side seems to do the trick... Good luck and I hope you feel better. Merry Christmas! Danielle

Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions. I ended up going to the emergncy room after I called my Dr. the day I posted They ended admitting me again for a few days. (that is why you didn't here from me again) I learned an important lesson........Don't let them push you out the door till your bowels are working. It is really pits coming home for a day and a half and then going back for a couple more days. Hopefully this time I am home for good. They are still watching my gall bladder and some of my blood levels. I need to have blood drawn again tomorrow morning. Depending on the outcome of that I may need to have it checked again the next day and so on.
