Low Iron. Does anyone take Feosol supplements?

Hey guys, Yes I am alive and doing fine!!!!!!!!!!!! The new forum looks great by the way. Anyhow I have some low iron and low hemoglobin issues. I have not been the best about taking my supplements. I am three years out now and i should know better I know. But anyhow, my doc wants me to take Feosol Iron supplements, does anyone else take these?? And did they work? I have one month to get my levels up or he is sending me to a hematologist for possible Iron infusions. So any thoughts???

Hi Jennifer, I tried these and various others without any great success. Finally my levels got so bad I was passing out and then I started HemoPlex which is a chelated iron. Within a week my iron levels doubled. Good Luck!!! Mary

Now where would I find HemoPlex?? When I searched online, all I found were Canadian sites????? Can you get it here in the US?

I am sorry it is actually called HEMA-PLEX (I didn't have the box near me before) and you can buy it online, but I usually buy mine at this vitamin store: DISCOUNT NUTRITION CTR 35102 DODGE PARK RD STERLING HGTS MI 48312 586-939-6688 (most health food stores carry it too) I have had great success with this and really nothing else and I tried many! I take only one a day and it runs about $8.50 for 30 days worth. I noticed a huge difference in the way I felt within a week too. When my iron got low I would suffer these really bad frontal headaches that just would not go away. Within a week of starting this my iron #'s doubled and the headaches were gone. I really hope it helps you too.

Ok thanks so much. If my levels are not better in one month when he rechecks my iron, I will suggest this to him instead of sending me to the hemotolagist.

I got my 2 year labs done about a month ago and it showed low iron. I'm taking ferrous sulfate 325mg once a day. They are going to take my labs again in Feb to see how I'm doing. I do feel better though. I'm hoping that this is doing the trick. I'm still a bit sleepy but I don't feel out of sorts all the time like I had been. Good luck to you. Patty

Yes this is what I am taking also, but Feosol is the brand. I am however taking it twice a day. Was your hemoglobin low also. My iron and hemoglobin are both low.

Dr Kole???? Wait didn't he leave CORI??? Where is he now? He was my surgeon also. And is that a prescription??? How low were you levels??
