Had enough of the leaking/drainage/pain/sleeplessness
Stacey...Calm down girl!!! You know that to heal faster you need to RELAX!!!!! All this freaking out is not good for you or for healing!!! Try using a sanitary pad to put over the draining. Tape it well and you shouldn't have a problem with it leaking through to your clothes.
Also use peroxide on the stains on your clothes...It will lift the stain right out.
And you are not regretting having this surgery done...You are just upset and venting...Now go take a pill and relax....You will be fine!!!! Dr Dinick told you it was normal to have this drainage and if it was serious he would have told you that.
Now take a deep breath and calm down!!!!!!!!!
Love ya...Hugs Judy
Sorry to hear of your troubles.
I am 1 year and 2 days post op and STILL cannot stand up straight. The muscle tightening is pretty damned tight. No ab work, Pilates, or Yoga for me-ever. I get severe cramping at times as well. If it does not let up in another 6 months I want to know what they can do for me surgically.
Anywhoo, my belly button leaked horrilby for months. I mean I stood over the sink sobbing as the constant stream ran into the sink. I had to use heavy sanitary napkins tightly taped to even leave the house. I cried every day for a month. The sores from the tape bled and took forever to heal. The swelling was terrible as well. I regretted it for many months.
At 12 months post op I look fantastic. I have minimal swelling and still some pain, but I feel better than I ever have my entire life. All of my jeans are nice and snug and my ass looks great with my flat tummy. Would I do again. Absolutely!
My hubby just had it done 8 weeks ago as well. He had none of the issues I had and never even took pain meds. He still wears that binder to help the swelling which makes him miserable. He does not have to, but it helps him feel better. Just hang in there and know there will be light at the end of the tunnel. I know first hand it does not feel like that now, but I promise you will love the new look.
Take care.
have you tried physical therapy? my therapist says she cannot believe that surgeons do this surgery and then don't send us to therapy. i get so tight sometimes and other people on this board had me believing it was normal... until i went to physical therapy. my tummy muscles are all knotted and we are working on that and as we do it gets better and better and better. i can stand up straight, i am doing tummy strengthening exercises and i'm not numb in my abdomen anymore. and when i first started my therapy i was afraid to even let them touch my tummy. i was like, "leave it alone, it will take at least six months to heal and i'm walking for it which is ALL i was told to do." My therapist was p.o.ed and in one session had me feeling 100x better.
