Hey everybody, based on all the positive direction from many people and the advice here, I have decided to celebrate my birthday at Baker's on the 13th of January! I will be making reservations by Friday. If anyone is interested in a fun filled night of adult entertainment(not the Jon or KP in a thong kind) but kid free! Let me know by Thursday or Friday morning and I will make appropriate reservations. I know a lot of people would like to go, but then change their minds, so please be sure you can go so I don't over reserve! I would love to meet some of you that I have come to know over the last 2 years. And any newbies, you are welcome too! Music lovers, will get a treat, from what I hear Baker's is the place for great live music. The food may not be wls friendly, but I am sure we can find something to eat. And if you don't want to be included in the reservations but you find yourself free that night, drop on in and we'll try to squeeze you into our table somehow for the music portion of the night! This is a special birthday for me since I have lost almost 200 pounds and will very soon be undergoing the life changing plastics. Wendy

Good for you. Baker's is cool. They had an apple dessert dish there I used to be able to eat. That was a long time ago. I'm sure we can find something to make WLS folks happy. kp

Good deal. I have always enjoyed myself at Baker's, from big band to jazz. I hope you have a wonderful birthday. I'll try to stop by, but if not have a wonderful time. What time are you planning to arrive? Congrats and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Jay

Thinking I would set time for 7pm. Time enough for dinner and a couple of drinks. I will be the wild redhead lookin' for trouble! Wendy

You might want to ask them to fax you a copy of the menu. I really think you may have a problem if you don't check it out beforehand. Don't get me wrong, the food is sooooooo good, but it's southern style soulfood and although I would go there sometimes just for the food, I wouldn't want you to be surprised by the menu options. They may offer baked alternatives...I'm not sure. But even if you had to eat ice for dinner, , the music is worth it . Sorry I'm being so cautious, I am only three weeks out. So I would just feel so bad at the thought of you going there hungry and then not being able to eat. I've learned something through all of this though (eating post-op that is). I have a family that celebrates everything......under the sun (we enjoy eachothers company!). But, sometimes businesses don't understand when you tell them you've had WLS and have dietary restrictions. So I ask if they have any diabetic options, most people understand that. And If I come, I'll have to eat before I get there so I won't be tempted by that peach cobbler . Jay
