Greetings from Central Michigan....... Today, I celebrate 17 months post op from having my open RNY. Today, I weigh 144 lbs. When I began my journey, I was at 310. On October 17th I had my abdominoplasty, where my surgeon removed 15 pounds (holy crap) ...and in a few months I will be having a few touch ups to sculpt this body to even look hotter!!! I couldn't be where I am today without the support of all of you. I can't believe it's been 17 months already. I look at the picture below: http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i187/twinkles59/new1101.jpg And think WHOA NELLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an amazing transformation, change, and holy crap I don't even look the same!!! Just can't believe my eyes right now when I look in the mirror, and I can't believe I can wear a size 8 in tops, and a size 12 in pants (mostly due to the abdominoplasty swelling). In my heart, I wish my father were still alive today, and could see how thin I've become. I know he does see me, but I would like to see his facial reaction. Last year this time, he was so proud of how I looked, now I'm even thinner and I just wish he knew that he could finally hug me, and wrap his arms around me all the way without all that fat in the way. Thanks to all of you for your support, friendship and encouragement through my WLS journey!!! Stacey W 310/144 sw/cw 17 months post op 12/19/06

Thank you so much!!! Good luck in your journey, and keep it simple, day to day. One day at a time, baby steps, and just monitor your protein and vites. Best thing to do is keep a journal of what you take in. And I still do, 17 months out. It's the way I keep track of making sure I get in the essentials!!! Thanks for your kind words!!! You will do great!!! I'm sure of it!!! Stacey W

Thank you Jenny and Judy!!! It's been quite a ride and after this weekend, definately not over with but am coming along. Each day gets a little bit better than the last. The healing from the abdominoplasty is the most difficult. And knowing there will be minor revisions in the spring, dampers my horse riding days. Sad, but now I won't be able to lease Junior until probably next winter. However, I've spoken to his owner, and I can still go out and groom him and take him for walks, but it just isnt the same when there are people out there riding. I might not go as often but I will still go out there because it is great for my soul and spirit. Thanks!!!! Appreciate the kind words!!! Stacey W
