How Long?

I had surgery on December 4th. It was a lap but a rough one, the surgery took 3 hours to do. I am just wondering how long does it take to start to feel "normal" again. I don't mean with the healing and pain, but with your emotions and all that crap? I can't even put into words how I feel. I have had surgeries of different kinds in the past, and I don't ever remember feeling like I do now. Any advice?? Thanx so much!!!! R

Hi R, Hang in there it does get better! I was an emotional wreck after my wls. I cryed for 2-3 weeks for no reason at all. I could handle the pain it was the emotional crap that was hard for me! My doctor told me that once I hit that 2 months out I would be amaized on how good I felt physically as well as emotionally and he was right! I am not saying it is going to take 2 months for you to feel better but it is probably going to take a couple of weeks because your body is going through so many changes. Just keep your chin up, I know its hard but I promise it does get better! Take care and best of luck to you! Your WLS Pal, Jennifer V.
