HFH- Process- is this a normal time frame?
Hi Folks,
Just looking for some information please. I received my approval yesterday and already heard from HFH (now that's quick!). They gave me an appointment for my assessment on February 20th! Not so quick! I just wondered about the process- apparently I go for an assessment then back for a consult with the surgeon and then what? Just trying to get my ducks in a row because I have to travel and would like to plan ($$- LOL).

When you say you have an assessment are you talking about the nurse/nutrition consult? Is your appointment at 4:00 at the Center for Athletic Medicine (the C.A.M.)? I'm pretty sure that's what your appointment is for. At that consult you will get your blue bari binder and go over everything there is to know about the surgery. At the end of the meeting you will get an appointment for your first surgeon consult usually with in a day or two. At this point ask Wanda about scheduleing all of your appointments on the same day to save on travel expenses. It makes for a long day, but you get everything done and over with. You will be happy to know that H.F.H. is rated #1 in the state of Mi. and is in the top 20 in the nation. you are in the best of hands with Dr. Carlin or Dr. Genaw. They are both excellent surgeons. I am going through HF too. I set up my appointment for my dietician / nurse consult in Nov. and they can't get me in until the 23rd of January. Annette can help you with any info you need, she went through there too. She has already answered some questions for me and she is very knowledgable about their program.
Where do you live? Is it far to travel to HF?. I have an hour drive there so I am gonna ask to schedule all on one day if I can too.
