are you suppose to be eating chicken this soon?
i was still on liquids until 2 weeks out.
then pureed.
could be the thigh meat -- chicken is a sticky meat, i had problemsssssssssssssssssssssssss so bad with it in october i had to go to the ER.
try softer meats, perhaps white meat, and sma**** up a bit and chew it really really really well.
Might check with your wls on what you can eat right now.

Your doctor should have provided you with a list of items you should be eating at this point. The reason you are so ill is it is WAY too soon for anything solid. You need to find any paperwork given to you from your surgeon and see what your diet should be at this point. I know every surgeon is different, but most you don't get "real" food until at least 4 weeks out. If for some reason you don't have a list of what your diet should consist of, call your surgeons office FIRST thing tomorrow!

Ummm, my patient manual from the bariatric center at St Mary Mercy says Stage 1 is the first week clear liquids (Nov 30 through Dec 7).
Stage 2 is week two, full liquids (Ending Dec 14).
Stage 3 lasts two weeks and includes ground and soft meats combined with broth. That would mean mushing up the meat in the broth, and not until nest week.
So, I think you are a week ahead of yourself, slow down!!! This week's foods should be able to go through a sieve.
Marie, first mush anything up REALLY well. Then take only tiny bites and be sure each is chewed to liquid before you swallow. The foamies happened to me until I gave up on most chicken (rotisserie thighs were okay but not after they were refrigerated for very long) as a bad deal and went with chili (Wendys) and refried beans.
I remember the misery well, and I suffered it several times until I learned just what I could eat. I slowed down my eating too, so I could stop before I triggered a mess. I don't think I ever had a meal above 2.5 ounces in this stage. This is when I bought a box of store brand quart sized freezer bags so I could be ready for the foamies (or more) anywhere. There are still some in my purse and car. Are you sticking to the plan of only trying one new food a day? That will help determine the cause of any more foamies.
