As a newbie to this proceedure, the best thing is to read prior post and read profiles here. I remember at least 6 months before my surgery, I spent hours going through the archives here. I am still addicted to this site and I still learn from it even over 2 years out. Take care, Janice

Hi Selena, Congratulations on your surgery. I had my surgery in April. I was in the hospital for 3 days. Surgery on Monday discharged on Wednesday. The pain in the hospital was controled by the epidural, although on some the epidural doesn't work well and they need to use other things. I was able to walk the next morning (too groggy to do it on surgery day). The important thing is to walk, especially if you are having it lap. I didn't feel like eating much those first few weeks. See the Cori handbook for the diet. First week clear liquids - jello, sf popsicles, diluted juice, water, clear broth. The hospital dietician will talk to you on the second day post op. 2nd week - full liquid - this includes creamed soups, yougurt, etc. 3rd and 4th week pureed foods. At your first post op appointment, Darci will tell you more. Jeanne

Thank, I don't think I will be having an epidural because they didnt work with my c-sections, I am not nervous yet. I think more ready to get it over with, I hate that I have to leave my kids for 3 days..
