I am so ready to be done and recovering Right now I'm excited and not nervous- and even a bit at the *sigh* point for all the things I need to do ahead of time My sister watched my son so my husband and I could have a nice date before the big day -so my body decided to have a small gall bladder attack (small meaning just the cramping no agonizing pain) still enough for me to be in bed and asleep at 11- stupid gall bladder. My mom retired from Hurley so she is relieved I will be there - I almost feel bad for the doctors- she will be in nurse mode. Anyhow- I am shopping for some jammies and slippers for the hospital- probably some girlie soap Any other suggestions? Jennifer

Good luck, Jennifer! I found that I didn't really need anything that I took to the hospital with me. I wore the hospital's gowns and slippers, and I never touched the book I took to read, there was barely any time to be bothered with it! I spent most of my time either sleeping or walking and before I knew it I was home. I was grateful to have big, loose, stretchy clothes to wear home - - you will probably be swollen and puffy from being on IV fluids. See you on "the other side"!!! Karen

Jennifer, I too wore the hospital stuff, except for my robe and slippers. You'll want to be up and walking right away and it was nice to have my own robe to throw over my shoulders. I bought some really nice lotion from Cost Plus World Market...I think it was lavender vanilla. It really helped when I was feeling kind of cooped up and sick of that hospital smell. It was nice when I was up and moving around to have a little pick me up. I too just slept and walked, I didn't even watch TV or listen to the music I brought. Are they taking your gall bladder when you have your surgery? They took mine because when they went in for the lap they saw a lot of stones. Best of luck to you! Brenda

Jennifer, I too didn't use anything I brought except my pads and my chapstick.... I used their gowns and their slipper socks.... I watched a little tv, but walked, sipped, slept, walked sipped and slept.... I didn't read any of the book I brought and I would not have wanted my own jammies while I was there... just loose clothes for coming home.... Best of luck to you!!!!!! Shawn M.

Jennifer you're going to do great! I took my robe, slippers, chapstick, pads and extra undies.....You won't really need anything else, unless you want to take your own pillows. That sucks about the gallbladder attack, at least it wasn't a bad one. It's not long now. Hugs Linda
