PROTEIN PROBLEM
I had a problem at first too and I added mine to sugar free chocolate pudding and I put it in the freezer and got it really cold. I also just mixed 1 scoop of the unjury with 4 oz of milk; like they did in our classes, and used a spoon. I couldn't just drink it. I used a spoon and that seemed to help. Just remember to go slow and it will all work out.

It was difficult for me as a new post op too, but you just have to keep trying different things. I did Anywhey unflavored protein powder in carnation instant breakfast as a new postop. That did well. (you can buy that at GNC) then when winter came and I was cold all the time I went to Designer Whey vanilla (WalMart for $15) and mixed it in wtih sf hot chocolate.
Yes, it will get better as you progress through the different food stages. Today I had cottage cheese w/ pineapple on top. That was 12grams of protein right there.
Keep you chin up - it'll get better!!!!!!

I have been to all kinds of health food stores and they all say to stay away from the plain powder that it tastes different than if you did the flavored. My problem was I grew tired of the sweet taste of the all of the flavored protein. I tried the Absopure sample pack and liked them all! Go to GNC and get free advice and the Gold Card. The first week of the month you can buy one get one 1/2 off and get another 20% off with the Gold Card.
I wouldnt ingest any protein that had to be mixed with milk. Period.
I despised it. It came up all the time. Or, wouldn't go down.
I kept searching. I kept looking. And then, one day, I found
NATURE'S BEST ISOPURE CLEAR WHEY ISOLATE PRE MADE BOTTLES IN 20 OUNCES WITH 40 GRAMS PROTEIN PER BOTTLE AT GNC. They have numerous flavors, and right now I'm stuck on Icy Orange. It's like Mandarin Orange flavored. It isn't too sweet, and it is clear, you can see right through it.
I also eat Any Whey from GNC in my coffee in the morning (about 17 gms per scoop) and then add another scoop to my oatmeal for a whopping 34 grams in about an hour or two. On the ANY WHEY, I didn't make it right with hot cocoa, perhaps the water too hot, it got clumpy on me. However I do like it in my coffee and now teas. I suppose you could add it to Crystal Light and try it in other things.
It's a battle to find your niche but once you do, you will get the protein in. Just keep at it, and don't give up, each of us tastes things differently. I prefered salty protein rather than the sweet was my problem. And so Any Whey in my chicken broth? Works for me. It does in soups too. And chili now. Give it a try, if you don't like Any Whey, I'll buy it from you!

I know...they all taste like %$!!! The only one I can tolerate is HMR and I buy it online. Beaumont Weight Loss Center also has it. Try the Isopure, its at GNC, its far and tasted like Koolaid, pour it over ice.
If u can...try some soft scrambled eggs, cottage cheese or yogurt. Those are all good.
Best of luck,
Robin
I only use the AnyWhey (17.99 for 30 servings at Vitamin Shoppe). It doesn't really have a taste, but it does smell like vanilla. If you mix it with oatmeal before adding the ho****er or microwaving, you won't even know it's there.
I also mix it with Nestle diet hot chocolate, but microwave the milk so it's not really hot, and then mix the cocoa and protein powder together.
I am picky, and I just hate any protein powder. I mix a scoop with a few ounces of yogurt smoothie and chug it down. You may not want to chug right away....wait until you're a little more used to your pouch.
Good Luck!

I mix Any Whey in everything. Have you tried the Nectar Proteins? They come in a variety of fruit flavors. I really like them. To add a litle zip to them, sometimes I add a Crystal Light to go pk. to it. My friend Debi, told me about this, It really works
Also cottage cheese mixed with carb master yogurt ( from Kroger) really good, and if you add 1 tablespoon of Any Whey it's still really good with 9 extra grams of protein ~what a bonus. I hope you find something that works for you. If you don't get enough protein in, your body will "eat" your musscle and thats a bad thing.
God bless you,
Annette
