Sherry: I know how you feel. I hate playing games with the insurance company and idiot doctors - which is what I'm doing right now. I met with my doctors (2 different ones) last year a total of 8 times. In all of those appointments I discussed my diet and exercise efforts and had them review my charts, journals, etc. But of those 8 visits there was only ONE notation in my chart that I was dieting. Not enough proof for the insurance company's 12 month requirement. And my doctors wouldn't amend their medical notes on my behalf (even after much begging, crying and pleading on my part). So I'm just beginning my NEW 12 month diet documentation. I'm 5 weeks into it now. So I've still got 11 months to go. I feel your pain. Eventually the feelings of dispair and anger will subside and you'll hopefully come to terms with the crazy waiting period. At least it did for me... I'm just biding my time and going with the flow. Hopefully the time will go by quickly for both of us. Pam

Hi Sherry! That sucks! After much time spent on the phone with my insurance (BC/BS)I decided to make a form for my dr to use. I put down the date, time, my weight, + or -, my BP, heart rate, diet plan, exercise plan, and goals. Then each weigh in visit I would have them fill it out- and I kept this log. At the end of 12 months they got a copy for their records, but I had my copy along with my food journals to present. I wasn't happy about the effort- but it did pay off. I was accepted first time around. I have very much approached my approval as a fight and made sure that I documented everything that insurance told me they wanted. and yes it was damn tedious! However it eventually did work- either that or they were afraid they would be hearing from me every week. Hang in there! a year is going to pass whether you are charting your weight or not- so keep working towards it!!! Blessings! Jennifer
