I stopped losing weight at about 1 1/2 years out. I still had about 40lbs. to lose to get to goal. I have slowly gain back 12lbs over the last 3 years. I had an endoscope done a few weeks ago. My doctor said my stoma was to large and my food was going right though the pouch. I never feel full, now I know why. I've been checking on sclerotherapy. I would like to hear from someone who has had it done. Thanks for any help you can give me. Ruth

That's still a significant loss and the twelve pounds is just about a normal bounce back gain so I wouldn't panic. You can probably get the bypass part of your procedure to kick in and help you until you can get the restrictive part fixed. I would suggest going back to basics and making sure you kick start your metabolism right away in the am. Shakes are good for that and the less carbs the better. Eat small and more frequent. And don't forget the water. Don't kick yourself over it though. Just do what you know is right as a GAP and you will be fine. BB

Hi Ruth! I'm so glad you asked this question! I'm just about 17 mos. out from my surgery, and all is going well. I'm going to have a hernia repair and TT on the 7th ( ) and I've lost about 5 lbs. more than my goal weight. I have to tell you, though, my biggest fear at this point is that if I'm not careful, my stoma will become enlarged over time. So it's really good to hear that it has happened to others and how to prevent it, that there is a natural "bounce back" gain, etc. I have a few pills I still have to take, a couple of them are pretty large, but I definitely needed this information. Thank you for asking, and thank you to all *****sponded...I printed it all out! Lizzie B
