just went through a tummy and arm reconstruction with Dr. DiNick..........all has gone very well. My arms have been much sorer than my tummy (but all look wonderful), so i am wondering if a lower body lift will resemble the healing of a tummy tuck (10 pounds removed) or bat wing removal. If my thighs and bum will be as "tender" as my upper arms--i will need to plan for a bit different recovery mode........thanks in advance for any feedback! hug rae

Hey Rae, Congratulations on your surgeries. When did you have them done? Are you happy with the results so far? Did your insurance cover any of it? Did you have any musscle tightening done with it? How are you feeling? I'm in great need of reconstructive work. I want to get my tummy, my legs, and my back side done first. After that's healed up I want to have my waist, back, breast, arms neck and face done. I'm wondering What kind of recovery time this will require, and how painful it will be. At the very least I have to have my bottom half done. Was is worth going through? Are you glad you had it done? Sorry about all of the questions. I just am not comfortable with all of this excess skin hanging from me. I will pay myself to have it removed if my insurance won't cover it. Thank you Rae. God bless you, Annette

Hi Annette--i am very happy with Dr. Dinick's work! i am still healing--my tummy feels great but is still a bit swollen-he tightened muscles and did liposuction in addition to the other reconstructive work. i also had my upper arms done..they have been more painful........i am 5 weeks out this coming weds--am back at work..maybe a little bit too early..........insurance paid for tummy but will not cover arms and lower body lift-but each insurance is different..you just have to check! I recommend Dr. D without reservation! good luck! rae

This is really great! I don't have any answers, but I am so excited for you!....Now, a question from me. How do you get your insurance to pay for these procedures?

each insurance is different...........one thing that is important is to be able to document skin problems due to skin rubbing together, moisture, breakdown etc...or back pain from the excessive weigh of the skin.....so when you have sores, take pictures and have a trail of meds (topical) that have been prescribed by your pcp to help manage those problems. i have bcbs ppo and they only covered the tummy, the rest i am covering on my own. But other insurances are better at covering some of the other procedures. If you have different insurance options at work, you should look to see if there is a difference in what they would cover in relation to plastic surgery procedures. I am so happy with my arms and tummy...and i am sure i will be with the lower body lift too...........of course selling my first born was a tough decision--but you have to do what you have to do! grin just kidding! good luck, rae
