questions??

I was talking with a gal today and she has had the wls ..she had it in yipsi.. she was very happy with it done there ..the thing is I told her I was going to grandrapids and she said she new of a few that had it done there and thay put them threw a lot !! getting it done..plus you have to buy there food shakes ..stuff like that ?? and she dont have to do any of that where she went ...I myself feel very comfortable going there..cant wait til wed I have 2 appointments . those of you that had it done in GR what was the cost of the shakes ?? or what ever you needed ? hugs Sherry

If you are talking MMPC food I paid close to 800 dollars for the preopt food and post op food. It is not to bad but it is worth it. Good luck with your appointments. Tricia

I had my surgery August 28th at St Mary Mercy in Livonia. Dr Zeni and his office staff are wonderful people. I didn't have to buy anything special from them. The option was there but it was not required. I had to be on a 1000 calorie diet for a week prior to surgery and I could use their supplements or do my own diet as long as it was only 1000 per day. They gave us sample menus and even suggested using lean cuisines and smart ones. Paying $800 for supplements sounds like a rip off to me. I know that I am 3 months out and I have lost 65 lbs and I didn't need any supplements from the hospital. I guess it just has to be up to you and what you are comfortable doing. Stacey B

well I no there is no way I could afford that ! but I like the drs there am not sure what to do ?? but like I said I need to go somwhere where I dont have to buy all that food ...any suggestions ?plus a place that will help me get my insurence approved ...bcb s plus I only have about 6 months od diet documentaion from my dr pluss 2 years topps Sherry

SHERRY...MMPC IS STRICTER ON HOW YOU ARE EATING BEFORE AND AFTER YOUR WLS....I AM SURE THEY WOULD LET YOU MAKE PAYMENTS IF NEED TO ON THEIR FOOD. JUST ASK THEM AND SEE IF THEY WOULD LET YOU DO IT THAT WAY...BESIDES YOU WILL BE SAVING SO MUCH MONEY FROM NOT BUYING FOOD IN THE GROCERY STORE FOR A FEW WEEKS!!!! MMPC IS WILLING TO WORK WITH THEIR PATIENTS BECAUSE THEY CARE!!! I AM SO GLAD THAT I WENT THERE EVEN IF I HAVE TO TRAVEL ALMOST 3 HOURS EACH WAY!!!!! HUGS JUDY
