I have been at a plateau for the past 2 weeks. In fact I weigh 1.5 lbs more today than I did 4/5 days ago. Scary. I'm wondering if this is common after losing soo much weight so quickly? Any thoughts on how I can not let this freak me out? Ive not "done" anything like eat my way through a bag of potatoe chips, but still, I have 50 lbs more to lose and it scares me to think my body "likes" being this weight and it wants to stay here. Thanks, Kathryn

Hi Kathryn, As Scary as it is we all hit plateau's. This too shall pass. Sometimes it may feel like it will never end but it will. Your body is adjusting (catching up) to the changes it has gone through. You will lose again. When I was six weeks out when I hit a plateau that lasted a full six weeks. I lost nothing not an ounce, not an inch. I thought for sure I was the only one this surgery was not going to work for. At the begining of the seventh week with out any kind of a loss I lost a couple of pounds. Now a year later I am down 214 #'s and many, many sizes in my clothing. Try not to get discouraged by this because you really will start to lose again. You may need to up your protein, and calories. Do you have a nutritionist? You may want to talk to him/her about this. I know my nut has been very helpful. Best wishes to you. God bless, Annette
