Just thought I'd post since its been a while and give a mini-update. I've added two new current pics to the profile if ya wanna peruse them. I have been having bad abdominal pain issues/gas/nasusea for the last two months on a daily basis. I finally met with my family doc and she ordered a GB ultrasound for me. I had that done tuesday morning since I was headed to Chicago for a followup with Dr. Alverdy on wednesday. He pretty much looked at me as he walked in the room and told that my gallbladder had to come out. Looked that bad huh? Feels that bad. So I am set to have it removed next thursday, Nov 30th. fun fun fun. Any and all advice is appreciated as to what I can expect to be going through with the GB removal at this stage in my weight loss - 19 1/2 months out and down 274 from my highest. I really didnt want give birth to another "alien baby" anytime soon...but guess its meant to be =) lmao! FYI: alien baby = JP drain for those who didnt read the entire saga on my profile. ahaha. I have a gathering I really want/need to attend on Saturday, Dec 2nd. Does anyone think I will be able to make it ok or will I pretty much have to pass it by? Yes, the baby would be coming with me. lol

When I had my GB out in February I was able to go shopping the next day. I did not have any drains in. I did really well. I was sore for a couple of weeks and could not drive but my recovery went really well. I think it all depends on the individual. Some people recover different from others. Congrats on all your accomplishments. You are doing awesome. Suzanne

Hi Diane, It has been a long time. Glad you stopped by. You look great and as soon as you give birth to that baby you should feel much better. I was going to have my gallbladder removed a couple of weeks ago. My surgeon assured me it was just a minor procedure and I would be back to normal in a day or two. He also told me he was going to take a look around in there to make sure that was the problem. Well it wasn't. When he got in there he found a rare internal Pendersen hernia (it nearly cost me my life). But anyhow, you shouldn't have any tubes of any kind hanging out with you after this surgery. You should be fine for the 2nd. Just take it slow, listen to your body, and have fun. Congratulations on your success. God bless you, Annette
