Hi Rae, Thank you for the suggestions. I started my day with a protein shake. 8 oz. ff milk, 1 container carb master yogurt, and a scoop of any whey protein powder. For lunch I had a diet SF hot coco with a scoop of any whey protein powder. For dinner I had 1/4 cup of SF FF baked beans, a bite of fresh baked sweet potatoes(plain),a nibble of stuffing and a bite of potatoes w/gravy. I did much better today until I had a piece of sf ff chocolate cheesecake. My tummy just plain hurts from that. I think I'm going to run water over it and put it down the garbage disposal. I think I'll start with a protein shake in the morning tomorrow too. This head thing will never end will it. It really is a lifetime thing. Thank you for the help Rae. God bless you, Annette

Hi Annette, It's funny you should post this today......last night I was at Farmer Jack buying last minute stuff for today and I grabbed one of those .25 bags of chips at the register and at it in the car on the way home. All of the sudden it hit me.....I DON'T DO THIS ANYMORE!!! It was such a habit that I used to have, and I guess I was so busy that I forgot my new way of eating. Anyway......I know what you're going through. Just take it hour by hour. Keep reminding yourself during the day when you're eating and drinking as you should, that you are on track, and want to stay there. I have to remind myself hour by hour that I'm doing ok, and if I make a mistake, like yesterday, I have to say, "ok, I messed up, let's not do that again". And not beat myself up for it. As I suggested in a previous post about Thanksgiving, keep oranges around the house, because it's time consuming to peel and eat them, and it keeps you busy instead of munching on chips, etc. Good Luck to us all....I know you're strong and will figure out how to get past this. If you need to go to talk to a professional, then do it! Happy Thanksgiving! Brenda

Hi Brenda, O.M.G. I was at the Walmart store last night and saw the little bags of Cheetos and Doritos. The first thing I did was say to myself oh I should grab a few of those they're the perfect size for me. Then I told myself NO! you don't need them~its that kind of junk that is hurting you. It was a real battle but I thank God that I left the store with out them. I bought a bag of oranges a couple of days ago, I ate my first orange in over a year yesterday. I forgot how good they tasted. I also bought some apples and bananas. Fruit is a good choice. Thank you for the suggestion. God bless you, Annette

Annette, dont make me take you to the gym again!!!! LOL No really, annette, I have such respect and admiration for you, and your battles and fortitude. You can do this. I like to eat more than I used to, and it is a struggle, but if I eat more one day, you better bet that I am going to balance that with more exercise the next. Do not make food your enemy, there comes a time that you have to make friends with food. Start that now, before you totally lose control. Jon's earlier post hit the nail on the head, burn more than you take in and you can eat all you want. I do know that this is SO much harder than jumping out of an airplane, but YOU CAN DO IT!!! I am praying for you and I do know that you will win this battle, but let me know if there is anything I can do. Your Henry Ford Buddy, Carol

Hey Carol, Thank you, and thank you for the prayers. Lord knows I need them. Maybe you do need to drag me back to the gym lol ~but not for a month per Dr.Carlin. I have to heal up first. How does one make food their friend? It has always been bad news for me. I did much better today, but have a long ways to go with my battle with food. This is harder than jumping. In fact it was eaier for me to stop dinking and getting high than it is for me to get control of my eating habits. Take care Carole. It's always nice to hear from you. Here is one suggestion that might help - visual imaging. Put a pre-op picture of you on the fridge, on the door to the cupboard. When I see where I was, and I know we all don't want to go back there, it helps to fight off urges. Jon

Thank you Jon. I have a big 8x10 glossy of my before pic that I use when I talk at the C.A.M. It is now in the process of going up on my fridge. Thank you again. God bless you, Annette

Annette, I know it's head hunger that drives you but try the protien. However you can get it into your belly. Protien digests slower, and satisfies hunger better than anything else you can eat. I know when I want something salty-sweet or junky, I grab some jerky. When I am out and about, I grab one piece of fried chicken...fried is not a good choice but I get it because the salty batter, just a little bite, satisfies my craving for the junk..then I eat the meat. One chicken thigh is loaded with about 15 grams of protien and I don't feel the need to eat for 2 or 3 hours after. Good luck. KathyG

Hi Kathy, Thank you for the suggestion with the meat. I have tried to eat meat but I just can't tolerate it. I do use soy "meat" A.K.A. meatless meat which is much easier on my pouch. I have upped my protein (via shakes & drinks). I think posting this has helped a great deal. I did much better yesterday, and am doing ok so far today. This is hard, but I'm determined to make it work. I'm thinking I may be having a hard time because I'm not working right now. Before I was working seven days a week, and putting in 9 to 12 hours a day. I didn't have time to eat. now I have plenty of time and not much to do with it. Hummm, it makes sense to me. Take care Kathy. God bless you, Annette
