Help, I have the foamies..........
I had my surgery Oct 25 and didn't have trouble number one till today. I got up at 6am and drank my water till 8 (20oz) I have done this many times. I waited till 9 and had 1/4c refried beans, 1/4c cottage cheese and 1/8c shredded cheese, and taco seas. I mix it all and nuke it. (I have done this before). I could only eat 1/2 and I was full so I stopped. I waited till 10:30 and made some diet hot cocoa with 1%milk and 1/3 powdered milk to add more protein. (I have also done this before without problems). I drank 3/4 of it and felt full all the way to my breastbone and stopped. Then I started to feel sick, and did throw up a little bit of the chocolate and then from then on I have been spitting up foam, burping up foam. I have some pain sometimes in my lower throat. When it does seem to pass, I take a sip of water cause I don't want to get dehryated but then it starts again. I tried some green tea and the same thing. It is now 7:30pm and I am thirsty but scared to drink anymore. Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of this darn foam? I just don't know how to get rid of it! Thank goodness that I had surgery and am not hungry, but thirsty. I sure could use your help.
Thanks, Ann
Ann what works today may not work tomorrow. i never eat til i'm full neither, i stop when i feel satisfied or else i get sick. Another thing, i can't do 1% milk neither. I would say the sf cocoa had sugar alcohols and did it to you. It sounds like a small dump. Drink some protein and see if that helps.
Hugs
Linda
Hi Ann! Foamies suck!! I feel for you. Like Judy says, try laying on your left side, sometimes that helps. Might make you want to throw up, but you might need to do just that! I can't have ANY fat whatsoever. I have fat free milk if I ever need to use milk. Try drinking tea, coffee or warm water. Sip only. The only thing that helps me when I get the foamies is to finally throw up. I had rib meat stuck last night, Lord that sucked. Finally got it out after 2.5 hours of foamies and upchucking! Good Luck and I hope you feel better!

Well, it is morning and I do feel better. I have had about 8oz of water and that seems to be sitting fine.
The only thing that I can figure is that the beans were too thick, and they must have gotten stuck. I don't think that I over ate them, and then the hot cocoa sitting on top was just too much. I did throw up a little bit of cocoa, and I mean just a little at first and couldn't do it anymore. I wish I could have.
Today, I am going VERY SLOW, and going back to phase 1. Boy, that took a lot out of me yesterday. I don't want to do that again! Funny, I was wondering if my pouch was really working, seemed like I could eat everything that I tried without any trouble, but it now has let me know that it is there and I had better follow the rules!
Thanks for all of your consern and prayers, I really appreciate it. What a great family you are!
Judy, I did go to bed and laid on my left side so maybe that helped too.
Jay, I did try tea last evening about 6 and drank about 1/2cup very slowly, I did start to feel better @ 8 so maybe that did help too.
Boy this was a real learning experience for me, I must not have dence foods yet, and don't push that full feeling!
You were stuck.
Even though you've had all those things before something has changed - consistency, amount, pace,,,,,, something and it got stuck.
Warm tea helps move things after a while but you may yack it up for a while till it moves.
You don't want to have this happen very often. It can cause more problems down the line. So today and for a couple days go back a few steps on full liquids and mush.
