Just found out about VSG

Hi! I started this process thinking Lap Band was for me - Hurley;s program. Then decided against it. Next, went to Barix Clinic in Ypsilanti for RNY - just got my surgery date (Dec. 27th) - but, I am feeling like it is not for me. Last night I sent my first Posts on Main and recieved lots of information including info on VSG! I am so excited! For the first time since I started this process, I feel like this is for me! Does anyone out there in Michigan-land have info on VSG? I found two doctors on this site but neither of them listed how many of these surgeries they have done. I am looking for someone who has had the surgery and a doctor referral. Please let me know if you know of anyone. :-)

Hi cheri, I know that Dr. Zeni (st.Mary's hospital in livonia) does this type of procedure in fact I am probley going to have this procedure next week with him he is my surgon and has discussed it with me if he isn't able to do the RNY because I have a lot of scare tissue. Its a good procedure but now as much weight loss and eazier to gain back--- he does free constulation and can tell you more about it give him a call---I'm schulded for the 29th of nov. Marie

Mark Pleatman does this surgery I believe. Jeff Moore flew from the PNW in last July and had surgery with him at Pontiac Osteopathic. He's doing well with the procedure from what I have read. He was up and moving rather well for a new post op. As for specifics I don't know that much but I believe there may be little or no dumping? kp
