I'm hungry!
I'm three weeks out from surgery. I am so hungry! It's that "my stomach hurts because it's so hungry" feeling. I eat my protein, and the starving stomach goes away for one hour, at most. I wait at least 1/2 hour after eating before starting the water.
I don't ever get that full feeling, even though taking the protein shakes, just always hungry.
Anyway have any suggestion what's going on?
Marie
HI MARIE...I HAVE TO STOP DRINKING 15 MINUTES BEFORE EATING AND NOT DRINKING DURING EATING OR FOR 45 MINUTES AFTER EATING. MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY WAITING LONGER TO DRINK AFTER YOU EAT. DRINKING WASHES OUT THE FOOD AND PROTEIN AND YOU WANT TO KEEP IT IN THE POUCH LONG AS YOU CAN. MAYBE YOU COULD TRY A LITTLE BIT MORE TO EAT AT A TIME??
GOOD LUCK!!!

Are you sure you are hungry? I am 2 1/2 months out and I never get hungry. I make sure I eat small meals. I have to stop drinking 30 minutes before eating and for 30 minutes after eating. I have to make myself eat because I don't really get hungry. Have you tried Cottage Cheese. That made me feel full. You could even try mashed potatoes. I ate instant mashed potatoes and felt full. Remember you should only be eating about 2 to 4 ounces. If you can't get the full 4 ounces in then stop. You don't want to stretch your pouch. I could never get more than 3 ounces of anything in. You could also try cream of wheat with splenda in it. Make sure it is runny. I used milk to make mine runny. Also are you getting all your water in. You are supposed to get all your water in and that will help with the full feeling.

Yup, definitely got the stomach hurting because it's so hungry thing going on. But 3 to 4 oz? My menu says 1 to 2 oz! Hmm, maybe I need to call the nut and talk about this. I'm waiting before and after with the water, but having a hard time with the water, too. I'm getting in about three cups a day. I really liked water before the surgery, but now I can't stand the taste. I've tried every brand of bottled water, same thing, so I'm doing the fruit20 waters, etc.

Oh, my gosh, Stacy, I am SO glad you mentioned the 3 to 4 oz thing! I just went back, re-read the instructions. Indeed, it doesn't say a serving size is 1 to 2 oz, it says 1 to 2 oz equals 7 grams of protein! I couldn't figure out how they thought I could possibly get 60-80 grams or protein in with 1 oz of food.
Relief for my aching, hungry stomach!
