Hello friends, I am going for my 6 week post op appt next week. I am getting bored with my yogurt, pudding, cottage cheese, etc. Can you help please? Can someone give me some ideas of different things that I can try and eat? Im getting bored so much. I feel like that I have not lost weight in about 2 weeks. Thanks for the help. Kelly

First I would like to ask who did your surgery and what are their guidelines for dietary? See, mine- at 6 weeks we were suppose to incorporate soft foods to normal foods into our diets. Meaning low fat mac and cheese, to soft meats, mashed potatoes, soft veggies, generally anything our pouch could handle...nothing grisly, or tough, applesauce, toast, bagels, and cream cheese, i was eating canned veggies and turkey burgers on the foreman, also chili and soups. Check with your NUT and see what your plan is ....I was eating soft foods long before I was suppose to and was eating nuts at 4 weeks out. Something my nut was shocked at but it worked, and it stayed down. I avoided chicken after mid October after it got lodged and I had to have an endoscope and be admitted-- so if you do eat meats, make sure you put fat free gravy on it to help it go down. And I'm sure others here have ideas. I just remember being 6 weeks out and eating pretty much whatever I wanted to. Stacey W

Stacy, thank you. My surgery was in Grand Rapids with Dr. Foote. I know what I can eat but I wonder if maybe I am testing the waters too much and maybe that is why I am not loosing weight as quick. Thanks for the tips.

HI KELLY...I ALSO WENT TO GRAND RAPIDS AND DR FOOTE. I AM GOING FOR MY 6 WEEKS CHECK UP ON THE 27TH. I TRIED A SCRAMBLED EGG LAST NIGHT AND TWO BITES I FELT SICK!!! YOUR BEST BET IS TO CALL ONE OF THE NUTS AND SEE WHAT THEY SUGGEST FOR YOU TO EAT. OTHERWISE I WOULDN'T RUSH INTO EATING ANYTHING THAT HASN'T BEEN DISCUSSED AT YOUR PREVIOUS NUT MEETING. AND I ALSO HAVEN'T LOST ANYTHING IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS. HANG IN THERE I AM SURE WE BOTH WILL DROP SOME WEIGHT SOON!!! GOOD LUCK!!! HUGS JUDY

Hi Kelly Are you drinking your water and getting in your protein? You should worry about that first. The stall is normal, your body is catching up, and in shock from the surgery. It will pick up soon Hugs Linda
