Hi Stacey I still get it bad like that at over 2 years post op, but not every month. I got my period right after surgery, i think the next day. That is the only pain i remember from surgery. So it's normal, and don't expect it to be any better next month. hugs Linda

Hi Stacey, While I don't have an answer as to what might help you, I can tell you I'm in the same boat. I have at least two cycles each month lasting anywhere from 5-8 days and they are extremely heavy. I even pass clots at times. I mentioned this to my surgeon and he wants me to see my OBGYN. I have an appointment in a few weeks. I was on the birth control pill for 5 years minus the year around the time I had my daughter & I went off 3 months before surgery per Dr. request. My periods were always very light while on the pill, maybe 2 days at the most. I was spoiled by that. I went back on the pill in June per my Dr.'s ok. My RNY surgeon thinks that switching to a different type of BC may help me. I've also heard that a D & C procedure may help which I've had before and am not opposed to having again. I'll let you know what my OBGYN suggests and you keep us posted on how you are doing. Oh, I also have noticed I get quite dizzy usually when I'm sitting and stand up. Take care of yourself. Hugs, Shari
