Dear Robin, Why won't men date a pretty obese woman that I see all the time? There are SO many unanswered questions. I don't have an answer for you, but I can tell you one thing. To find a true man who will accept you for all you are, who you are and what you are, gastric bypass and all, is a truly special breed indeed. It takes time, and at my age (which is over 45) it isn't easy. Take your time, and let your heart guide you. Follow your heart, don't let "why wont men date women who have had gastric bypass" stop you from the search. Perhaps. and this is just how "I" feel so it is only "MY" opinion: WHEN YOU ARE TRULY READY INSIDE, AND YOUR HEART IS OPEN, GOD will bring him to you. Just be patient. That may not help, but it is what I cling on to every day of my single life. When it's time, it will happen, and your heart will know. Don't give up hon. Stacey W

Says who? I missed that in all the literature. And why would you tell them? Really, it changes our eating habits but not so drastically that they would be aware unless you told. I would suggest you save the news until after you have shared lots of other information. But if it's someone you knew before surgery, ask them out and then ask why gently if they say no. But that's easy for me to say....

I decided not to tell a male friend of mine that I had RNY, but he did notice the weight loss!! When he asked how I did it, I just told him I had to watch what I ate (which is true, so I didn't lie to him)!

I have been open and honest with the guys that I date. That is the first thing I tell them when I talk to them it is a part of me and I can not change the fact that I had surgery and need to watch what I eat then they are not right person, Do not get discouraged because there guys out there who understand and support you on your decision. I have found a great guy after I had surgery and you will to. Tricia
