protein -- HELP!!!!!!!!
does anybody have any suggestions on how to take protein??.. i have a powder my mom gave to me and tried a suggestion from the dietician of "hiding it in pudding" but it made the pudding a gritty conscistancy and i found it was VERY hard to eat due to that and the taste...... Any suggestions please??
I do Isopure Clear Isolate Whey Protein in bottles- pre mixed many flavors available at GNC 40gms protein per 20 ounce bottle
as more protein I do one scoop of ANY WHEY unflavored protein in my Weight Control Oatmeal (which contains 7 gms protein) and 1 scoop any whey is 17 gms protein then
I do 1-2 protein bars (the new quaker protein bars are the best so far - 10 gms protein and 1 gm sugar and 9 gms carbs) found at walmart and then what I eat.
I like the unflavored but it doesnt mix well with REALLY hot liquids.
Good luck hope that helps.

A lot of great suggestions here! I myself have not used protein powders in a while. But I used to use Any Whey as well. I blended a scoop with about a cup of milk, an envelope of sf hot chocolate, a tablespoon of smooth peanut butter, and wala'! Yummy choc/peanutbutter shake! The only thing is...it gets kind of foamy on top, which I didn't like, so I scooped that off.
On Bariatriceating.com, they offer samples at a reasonable price, so you can try out some without spending a fortune on something you don't like in the end. Check them out. Also, how about this?? Those of you that do have the powders, how about sending her a small sample to try??? Could just put a scoop in a baggie with a recipe of what you do with it and send it in a padded envelope or something. Wouldn't take much from your container and you'd be helping out a fellow MI Board member!!
If I had some, I would send it to you! I myself have an Atkins Advantage Chocolate Delight Shake every morning, 20 gr. protein, then get the rest thru food, although I am almost three years out now. I love it and it's about $5.95 for a four pack.
Best of luck to you Kathryn!!
