Lori, It's normal to not want to eat. Just do your best. And as hard as it is to have your problem, it's a good thing that you're not all blocked up, right? Just try to look for the silver lining......

Hi Lori, first of all Congratulations on your surgery. I too had Dr.Saber and I know he took good care of you. What you are feeling is so NORMAL! I started going to the bathroom and didn't stop for a while. Your pouch is adjusting to the surgery. Just take it one day at a time... I PROMISE you it does get better. Just wait till you get on the scale and start dropping weight like crazy. Or when those clothes that were too tight, fall off... Hang in there!! I was so depressed after my surgery, I cried for days on end. And then it just started getting better as the days went by. Allow yourself to heal and trust in God to give you peace. You may not see it now but a month or so down the road you will be so happy that you did this. I know that it was the best decision I have ever made in my whole life. I am now 5 or so months out and down 102 pounds... It was hard for the first month or so, but now it is much much better! Hang in there and if you have any concerns what so ever.. Call Dr. Saber, he will be happy to talk you through it! I will keep you in my prayers! God Bless, Kathy

You are in the process of healing and it is very normal, just be glad it isn't doing the opposite.....LOL. Sorry, we just usually hear the opposite problem once you get further out, especially once you begin taking Iron suppliments. Good luck with everything and I am praying for a speedy recovery.----Toni

Awwww! I know this part can be trying, but you can do it!! The not wanting to eat thing is very normal, but just keep sipping on the protein shakes, broth, whatever you're allowed. I had to gear my head to "what is good for me right now to heal?" rather than "this doesn't taste good at all...I don't want to eat it!" It's all about getting stronger and healing...the better you eat/drink, the faster you'll heal and feel more yourself. I myself did not have a bowel movement for 7 days after my surgery!!! THAT was MISERABLE, plus the fact I thought I'd have to go in and get "cleaned out." Did NOT want to do that! Finally it came, but never diareaha. Everyone's different though. At least you're not eating enough to cause a "large" mess! (Okay, too much info!) Congratulations on your surgery Lori and try to think about the wonderful days to come when you step on the scale and it's 10 lbs lighter each time!!!! The weight drops quickly! It's truly an incredible journey! Hang in there....we're with ya! Hugs, Theresa
