I'm home~Thank God I'm still alive
Hi Everyone,
I'm home again.
First I want to thank everyone for their prayers~ if it were not for prayer I may very well not exist on this earth today. Dr. Carlin (assisted by Dr. Berry) saved my life yesterday (for the second time in less than a year). He told me this is a very rare type of hernia that he has heard of but has never seen~until now. It's called a Pendersen Hernia. If it had gone a day or two longer it could have been very dangerous even fatal. My small intestine went through a hole twisted around my colon, my pouch and I forgot what else he said (some other organs). He untangled my massive mess and put everything back where it's supposed to be. Then he took a limb of my small intestine and connected it to my remnant stomach to help keep it in place (or something like that). He said it was a good thing that my friend called him (thank you Debi), but he wished I would have. Tell you what I will never do that again. I will call Dr. Carlin first, and then go to Henry Ford from now on. I will not go back to garden city hospital again. Once again I have to thank you for all the support given to me. I don't know that I will ever catch up on all of these posts but I will at least try to read them. I'm feeling very tired now. Time for some pain killers and a bed.
God bless each of you,
Annette
How frightening Annette!!
I am so glad you went in finally and had Dr. Carlin look at it... I'd hate to think what could have happened! This is a good lesson to all of us...LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! Take it easy Annette and REST. It's the best medicine. Thanks for updating us...we were worried! Hugs, Theresa

Hi Theresa,
There's no need to worry anymore. Our dear Dr. was on top of things as usual. I knew there was room for concern when he told me that he was very concerned. I just didn't realize it would turn out to be life threatening. Listen to your body is excellent advice. Mine is telling me I need rest, so I'm going to reply to a couple of more and go to bed. Take care Theresa.
God bless you,
Annette
Hi Tricia,
Wow do you look different! How are you? I am very grateful My dear Dr. carlin was there for me as usual. I thank God for that man everyday, and for the skill's / talent that he (God) gave to Dr. Carlin. If I ever feel the slighest unsual pain in my abdomen again I will call my surgeon first then go down to Henry Ford Hospital Detroit. I know they are the best. They prove it over and over again. Take care of yourself Tricia.
God bless you,
Annette
