Well tomorrow is the day we find out how bad it actually is. My daughter Sonya ( 23) has a anursyism (sp) on the stem of her brain. The specialist keeps calling her every few days to see how she is doing. He said when / IF they operate she can have him do it in Detroit or a lady ( can't remember her name) at the U of M. They are saying right NOW it's inoperable because of the location BUT he also said he might change his mind tomorrow ehn he does a more safisticated(sp) MRI. Right now they say it's a 1/3 of a golfball in size. Sonya has 2 babies Zach ( almost 3) and Cameron ( almost 1) and her husband Jon. She can NOT be left alone for long periods of time, they are talking of taking her drivers license away from her.. Can you all PLEASE keep us in your thoughts/ prayers tomorrow?? thanks. Pam

Pam, Our family went through the same thing two years ago with my ex-sisterinlaw (she was ex at that time...but due to the child, still pretty close with the family). The doctor that did her surgery said her aneurysm was attached to everything. I can't remember the size of hers, but she was beginning to have migraines in the few days prior to surgery. She now lives in the Detroit area with her mother and my parents have guardianship of the child (it is sad, but she basically abandoned her child after her mothers 'brainwashing and babying' her after being released from the hospital...long story). The waiting and the unknown is the worst. But keep in mind, people do survive this! The best thing is they know about it and they are seeing what they can do about it. I do know that some people NEVER have any symptoms and then it's too late. It is good to know your daughter is not one of those people as it means there is hope. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. If you ever need to talk about this subject, feel free to email me....we did a lot of research when we went through this situation and I know what you are going through. Michelle

Pam, I will be praying for your family. If you do end up going out to U of M, I think you will be happy with that decision. I used to work there, and all of my son's doctors are there. He has a lot of special needs (including having a spinal fusion there last summer). God will help you through this.....keep talking to Him. Brenda

DO NOT let the take her driver's license away! When I had a tumor that was pressing on my brain stem and had it removed, it left me with some problems. I just didn't drive, and I did renew it when I needed to, My aunt had something similiar - as you know the main blood vessel forms a "Y" into the brain - well it had a third branch. It caused her many problems and she was confined to a wheel chair for over 12 years.... Sonya is in my prayers....
