Does anyone still have the "my eyes are bigger than my stomach" syndrome? I keep putting more on my plate than I can possibly eat. I think that I have just enough, but it is always too much to eat......even when I use very small dishes....I don't get it! When does that go away, if ever?

I will be three years out in February and I STILL do that! Be careful to monitor that because as you can eat more the further out you are, the easier it is to eat more than we should. Jon

Hi Kori I am over two years out and still do it. You should have seen my plate at my surgeons picnic in september, Erin seen it. I had a turkey dog (with bun) a grilled chicken sandwich, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad , watermelon and grapes. Of course i didn't eat it all, but i was so hungry cause i got up late and had to rush to get there. I didn't touch the chicken, ate part of the sides and fruit. My nutritionist seen it too and just giggled and said it's ok just don't eat it all. I don't know if anyone ever overcomes it, if so, please let me know how. Hugs Linda

Guilty! I'm going on three years and I still do it. My husband always asks me why I put so much on my plate or why do I bother. I guess just knowing that it's there if I want it. So then I choose not to eat it. I don't think you ever get over it.

Yep, I joke about it with my husband. I'll have lots of stuff on my plate and only eat a tiny bit of it.

Oh, I do this too, even though a try not to....... My sister's partner had RNY a couple years ago and it used to make me so mad when they would come for dinner and she would load up her plate - - we would have to throw more than half of that out and it just pissed me off to waste that food. Now I do the SAME THING! Yikes!

Guilty!!!! And my husband is sick of it. I use a small plate at home but it's still too much food. When I'm done, I just hand it over to him and he finishes it off. To the price of a 10 pound gain for him over the last year!!!! He's really hoping I either eat a little more or take a little less food. Laurie

Wow, well I guess I will have to adjust somehow, but at least I know I'm not alone. If I find a clever way to avoid doing this., I will definitely let you guys know. Thanks everyone for your comments. Kori
