Help please, MMP
Hello- I had surgery 4 weeks ago in Grand Rapids with Dr Foote. I feel like my weight loss is stuck. I have been testing the waters with food choices. Is this bad? Is this why I have not lost any weight the past week? I am getting tired of cottage cheese and yogurt. Can someone give me some other ideas for food that I can eat? I appreciate the help. Thanks, Kelly
No your boby is getting used to the procedure so it is holding onto all the nutrition that is being placed in your system. I would follow the rules of your dietion because you might make yourself sick. But give it a few weeks and you will start loosing again it is normal to stall for a week or so then the rapid weight loss starts so get in the protein and water and that will help your weight loss. Well I'm only 5 weeks ahead of you so here are the things posted to me when I asked the same question:
Fish Sticks
1/2 Grilled Cheese
Cream of Wheat
Refried Beans--You could make Taco Meat with ground turkey and taco seasoning to go with. Just go slow and eat only a little.
Oatmeal
SF Pudding
Salmon Patties--I ate lots of these!...Use boneless, skinless salmon, 1/4 cup of bread crumbs, 1/4 cup of lite real mayonaisse and saute in olive oil. Lots of protein!
I also ate cheese and crackers. I bought the 2% cheese slices and had red. fat crackers. I tried Healthy Choice Turkey with in too. Yum-O!
You could also do 1 tbsp of Peanut Butter with 4 crackers.
Make sure you take little bites and chew really well.
You should be able to have cream soups (like Campbell's cream of chicken soup made with milk); also probably scrambled eggs (or Egg Beaters); ask the dietitian at MMPC. Have you had your month checkup? At one month, you'll get a bunch more foods you'll be able to eat.
Your body is catching up to your weight loss. Don't fret; it will come off. Just make sure you keep drinking your water too.

Didn't you get a list of foods for 2 - 4 weeks and 4 - 6 weeks from the dietitian? These explain pretty well what you can and cannot have. If you lost the list, call MMPC and talk to the dietitian and she can send you another one. I keep all the papers I get (including the list of foods) in the notebook MMPC gave me. This way if i have any question, I just go read and if that doesn't work, I call or email for an answer.
