It depends on the traffic; From the bridge/tunnel it can be closer to an hour. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a suburb, but it's pretty close to the outlying suburbs. The upside is that Ypsi is right off of I-94, so at least you'll have freeway for most of the drive.

Having been a safety director for a trucking company, it's a 50 minute drive, allow for traffic/construction too. Cynthia

You might want to consider going thru Henry Ford in downtown Detroit. They have a lot of experience with patients from Canada. Wanda, the patient coordinator, is very good about dealing with OHIP. Dr. Genaw & Dr. Carlin are both EXCELLENT. The program at HF is EXCELLENT. I cannot say enough good things about them! Dr. Genaw did my surgery as well as my mom's. My sister-in-law went with Dr. Carlin. We've all had positive experiences! Good luck to you! Nicole -195lbs!

From Toronto you are looking at about 45mins. I lived in Ypsi most of my life and it is an easy drive from Toronto...all down 94. In fact I was born in what is now strictly the Barix center...used to be a hospital. Without crossing the bridge I can get from Ypsi to Detroit in about 25mins but I speed!

I am having my surgery at Barix in Ypsilanit and I live South of there. For you probably give yourself atleast an hour and a half. If you are taking I94 West to exit 183 its very simple when you get off the exit ramp and when you are on Spring Street you can see the building. You won't regret going there, its all they do there. Awesome staff and very easy to park and get to. Good Luck and I will be home on Wednesday....Jackie in SE MI November 7th Lap Band
