Hey Kimberlina! I have to tell you from what I had heard, and what I experienced. What I heard is that after 6 months it is HARDER to lose the weight, but you still can lose weight! Maybe not as fast. Also watch those carbs intake as they keep the plateau going on and sometimes can make you gain. One more thing, just because you don't lose weight doesn't mean that you are not geting healthy. Gaining weight can be a good sign as muscle mass weighs more than fat mass. Check with your doctor and have that looked in to if you can. And just keep at it. I'm over 15 months out (soon to be 16) and still losing just slowly. Plus exercise and water, water water will help also. Keep the fight going and keep strong!!! Set acheivable goals for yourself and do it! YOU CAN DO IT!!! And I know YOU can!! Best wishes !!! Stacey W still reovering from Abdominoplasty and doing great!!!

Hi Kimberlina, I am a smidge over 6 months out and I've lost 97lbs. so far, but still have a ton to go to my goal weight. It seems to me that most of my weight came off in the first 4 months, and now I'm kind of slowing dropping a few pounds a month. I understand that you're wondering what is going to happen....I wonder the same thing. I think I've lost slower than everyone in my support group. I also wonder about clothes sizes....I see people post that they have lost 6 or 7 sizes in a few months and that seems crazy to me. I was wearing a 30/32 shirt before surgery, and I can fit into an 18/20 at some stores, but a 22 at others. Anyway, sorry to ramble, but I have heard at our meetings that things really do slow down at 6 months. I think we may have seen the last of the major weight drops. How far are you from your goal? I'm sure you're going to get lots of answers of sticking to your exercise, protein, and water and you'll keep losing. I sure hope so, for both of our sakes! Brenda

I will be 8 mths out on the 9th of November, I have lost 134lbs. I find that I am still losing 2-3 lbs about every week. I am over the moon with my weight loss. Keep positive you've done a great job so far. Marie 340/207/145

Kimberlina Yep, I do understand that it is difficult to see people at their goal by 6 months. But, we are all unique, individuals, and each one of us loses weight differently. I think you are doing amazing and just keep up the great work! And bump up the exercise - that can only help, but be sure you understand weight gain may occur- and that's from muscle mass gain. You're just plateauing. You will continue to lose at least til you're 18 mos out of surgery. After 6 months the weight loss slows way down, especially since you don't have that much to lose. Believe me, you don't want to lose too fast , that will lead to muscle loss. If you want to break your plateau then up your protein a lot, and no sugar!! My dietician told me at your stage if you load your body with protein and water and stay away from the carbs for one week you'll break the plateau. You only have a little over 40 pounds to go, take it slow so you're healthy. You have done awesome so far, it took me two years to hit goal. Hugs Linda
