How many calories?

How many calories are you eating per day? I guess I don't know how many I am supposed to be eating! Maybe that's why I'm not losing weight. Maybe I'm not eating enough. One of my friends who had the surgery seems to think I'm not eating enough. Could this really be true? I know in the beginning stages of eating I was only consuming about 500 calories and beating myself up for eating that much. I thought I was doing better. I figure I'm eating about 1000 to 1200 calories per day. Is that enough? Does my body think it's starving? HELP! Stacey B

the support group i used to attend recommended 1000 to 1200 for women so it sounds like you're right on track but you should really check with your nutritionist or surgeon's office.

Concentrate on the protein and water and getting carbs out. Calories will fall in place if you keep the others happening right. I was getting 80 grams of protein and 64 oz of water daily spread over 2.5 hour intervals. It worked out to be 800 cals a day and I was perfectly fine with that. kp
