Has anyone in their 50's undergone surgery?
I had my surgury a yr ago at age 53. Had minor adjustment problems that worked themselves out in time as I learned what I needed to learn. I do have an incisional hernia to have repaired but that is not uncommon in any kind of adominal surgury. I am very happy I had it done no regrets at all. Good luck in your research and Ill keep good thoughts going your way as you make your decision.
Donna,
I was 56 when I had surgery 2 years ago. Prior to surgery I couldn't walk 100 feet without limping due to knee and back pain. I've lost 120lbs, gone from a size 24 to size 12, and can walk with the best of them now. My blood pressure is now normal, no more meds for that or anything. I had my surgery done by Dr. Schuknecht when he was at Cori. I highly recommend him as a surgeon.
My surgery was 2/9/05 and I will be 54 on Thursday. I wish I'd had it done years ago when I started researching it. It's the best thing I've ever done for myself. There's a few problems but well worth the surgery and I'm so happy I can FINALLY buy normal clothes to wear and feel like doing things. I'm very happy with it, but you have to do what you feel is right for you.!!! Good Luck, it's a very difficult decision to make.
Donna,
I had my surgery done at age 56 on March 8 2005. I am down a total of 125 pounds and only wish that I had done it sooner. I feel great. I am able to walk, exercise and do so many things now. I would do it again in a heart beat.
Have gone from a size 26 to a 10.
Maybe someday in the future I will have the tummy tuck but not at this time. I feel so darn good.
My husband had the surgery in May 2006 at age 49. He feels the same way I do. It is great not to be out of breath just walking to the car.
