OT: need to ask for good thoughts..

Hey all can I ask for some good thoughts/ prayers sent my way?? My oldest daughter is 23 and was told today she has a brain anursyim (sp) the size we were told is 1/3 size of a golfball and it's on her brain stem. She has a appt. with Dr. Richard Fessler in Southfield on Nov. 9th. He called her today and told her this is what she has and the 9th they will repeat the MRI and see if has grown since the last one. He also said it would be VERY risky to operate on it BUT if it is growing they will HAVE to operate on it. We have NO idea how the hospitals are in Detroit so just that scares me to death.. She is a mom to Zach ( almost 3) and Cameron ( almost 1) and a wife to Jon. thanks so much for lending me a ear!! Pam

PAM MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL AT THIS TIME!!! I AM NOT SURE HOW THE HOSPITALS ARE IN THE DETROIT AREA ....BUT HERE AT ST. MARY'S HOSPITAL DR. GERALD SCHELL DID MY HUSBANDS SURGERY BACK IN 1996 AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!!!!! MY HUSBAND HAD A TUMOR THE SIZE OF A SOFTBALL GROWING OFF THE SIDE OF HIS SKULL. DR SAID HE HAD A MONTH TO LIVE IF HE DIDN'T HAVE SURGERY. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BE WITH YOU ALL!!! HUGS JUDY

Oh Pam, It is a difficult thing, But not impossible. I agree with Jennifer. Always get a second opinion. If you are referring to Providence Hospital in Southfield. It is a good hospital, but so is Beaumont that Jenn had mentioned. There are many great hospitals and drs. in this state, just do the same research you did when you where scoping out WLS.
