Anyone here with BCN....
can answer a few questions for me? I will be sending in for my approvel soon and I was just wondering if anything has changed in the last year? Is it still hard to get an approvel from BCN? Were you denied the first time out? How long did it take to get your approvel? What all did they want from you? Thanks for your time

Where are you trying to have your surgery at? That's the main question. BCN changed their "rules" in August and now you can only have your surgery done at a "Center of Excellence". You can find the list on the BCN website along with all the other criteria they want you to have. I was lucky and got approved on July 20th....just 11 days before they switched over to their new program. I would start by checking their website and make sure your hospital is listed as a COE. I also suggest sending a picture; front and side views; with your paperwork. My surgeons office also thought this was a great idea and had no problem sending them. It is one thing to say a patient weighs, for instance, 350lbs and seeing a picture of someone who weighs 350 lbs. Once I had the surgery BCN was wonderful. They even called me at home to make sure I was feeling OK and I didn't have any problems getting my prescriptions. Any other questions...let me know. Best of Luck.
