Oprah today
I'm with you on this....I don't like Oprah at all. She pretends to be for the everyday woman, but then comes out with this stupid list of overpriced things that most of us couldn't afford. Anyway.............
WLS is just like any other "treatment", some will fail at it and people will report that failure. It would be old news to find women that got their lives together and were more confident and healthy. A drunk and a sleaze make better TV.
I watched it. The main idea was that after "food" is taken away from obese people, they substitute it with other addictions, such as alcohol or sex or gambling or whatever. Carnie Wilson was on too and said she developed a raging alcohol problem after her gastric bypass, and has now been sober for three years. (It's been 7 yrs. since her surgery). I suppose it could happen. My main complaint about the show, however, is that they didn't have another side.....they should have balanced it with people who had the surgery and only good things happened. I think they should do another show about WLS. But Oprah believes WLS is a quick fix, so that's not likely to happen.
