3 week post op Plateau
Is it possible to plateau at 3 weeks post op?
I have not lost any weight in 4 days! I just find this a little hard to believe. At 2 weeks post-op, I lost 14lbs. I started walking my 3rd week, getting all my liquids and protein in everyday and have lost nothing. I didn't think that would be possible.
Help! Am I doing something wrong?
Sue
Sue, this is completely normal. I know it is hard to handle, i was at a stand still for almost 2.5 weeks, it started about 2.5 weeks after surgery. Get your protein and water in, and STAY OFF THE SCALE-no more than once a week. take your measurements, you are losing inches. it will move!!!! good luck, teri
Hi Teri, well I had my surgery 9/5/06 and i am down 36lbs from 265,i am one day 228 then the next 229 or 230 whats up with that?? So am I at a stand still too............ also this full feeling is kinda good but I have to know that i must get my protein in and water. Now I have a back problem and I can't take motrin so I have to get pass the pain. I was doing so good!!!
thanks

I know everyone says don't weigh yourself every day...but that's a hard habit to break if you've been doing it since right after surgery.
My weight fluxuates so much, I have started only really paying attention once a week, like on Friday mornings.
Seriously, when I weighed myself this morning, I was down 4 lbs. from Saturday. Now tomorrow, 4 or more may be back on the scale.
Don't worry about it, as long as you're following the recommended diet and getting a some form of exercise, and a lot of protein and water, it will all work out. Don't worry!

Yes, it is called Hibernation Syndrome. Basically your body is freaking out saying what the heck is going on?
I went through it at 3 weeks and ranted about it on my webpage on my August 5th rant! That scale did not budge for a week.
