Dr's James Wagner/Obede

Hi, Chris. Dr. Farhan did my surgery, but was assisted by Dr. Wagner. I'm 14 months out and have had ZERO complications. Dr. Wagner, Dr. Farhan, and Dr. Obeid checked on me while I was in recovery. I love the staff at Hurley. I believe all of their surgeons are highly qualified. I have no complaints regarding any of the care I've recieved at Hurley. Tina

I've chosen Dr. Obeid as my surgeon. I was very impressed with his honesty, compassion and acknowledgement that he relies on God to help guide him in making decisions about surgeries and patient care. I also am impressed with his medical record for WLS. Of 1300 surgeries he's only had 1 death and that was from a blood clot complication 3 weeks after the patients surgery where the blood clot got through the filter in the man's heart. His complication rate is very low with no major complications happening in the last 1000 surgeries. His reputation in the medical field is outstanding. Another major plus is that Dr. Obeid is also a trauma surgeon - his practice is not exclusively WLS. So if something goes wrong while I'm on the table, he's got the knowledge, expertise and experience to deal with whatever happens. Not sure I'd fully trust a doctor who ONLY did WLS. I also liked that there are 3 surgeons in the practice at Hurley, so in case one is our of town or on vacation, the others are covering for him. Plus the aftercare programs at Hurley seem to be quite extensive. I'm still pre-op ... but am glad I did my research and chose a doctor with a proven track record. Good luck! Pam
