question about new profiles...

Is there a way to make my new profile public without converting my old profile? I'd like to keep the old profile in tact but because of some incidents with a former member i'm not ready to make the info on my old profile public again yet. yet i'd like to go ahead and use the fresh new profile in the meantime.

I converted my profile to the new one. When I go into my account and click on my profile it takes me to my old one and says that I am the only one that can view it. It has a link on the old one that I then click to get to the new one. I am not sure how long it will be like that for but as of right now, I can access both of them, and you can only see my new one.
